Grassroots Leaders, Growing community
We all know bold, passionate, visionary people in our own neighborhoods—local leaders who do big things with small resources. Your dentist who gives free dental service to homeless folks. Your child’s kindergarten teacher who buys art supplies for her students because the school can’t afford them. At Beanstalk, we believe that every community has remarkable leaders, and that they make up the most effective force in America today for addressing local needs. We call these leaders “Gardeners,” because they plant seeds of generosity and nurture their communities. But often, they don’t have the resources they need. That’s where we come in. Beanstalk is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that discovers these Gardeners and shines a light on them. We support Gardeners with financial resources, business relationships, and social networking opportunities, so that they can connect with their communities to raise funds, attract volunteers, and get things done. To us, strengthening a community means getting everyone involved: friends, volunteers, local businesses, and corporate sponsors. Anyone can choose how to participate.
