The Beanstalk Way
Follow YOUR DOllAr
Beanstalk understands that when you give you deserve to see the results of your generosity. It is our goal to make that easy. At Beanstalk, you can follow your dollar with detailed project plans, dollar-for-dollar accounting, and outcome videos documenting the Garden’s results.
Every dollar you give through Beanstalk goes directly to the project you have chosen. We never take a dime to cover our operating expenses, and in many cases we actually cover the PayPal fees that are associated with donations. Not only that, most projects on the Beanstalk website are paired with Matching Donors, individuals or organizations who magnify your donation to create a big impact. For this reason, we have included the option to give a small donation to Beanstalk during the donation process, so that we can continue to find and support remarkable grassroots leaders.
There are four steps to following your dollar.
1. You find a project that inspires you and make a contribution. We'll send you a receipt for your records. If you choose to create a profile, you can also access your contribution record through the "Donations" tab of your personal page.
2. Beanstalk holds all donations until the Gardener submits a payout request. This ensures that all donations are going where they are intended, and in some cases can allow Gardeners without a formal 501(c)(3) standing to get tax-deductible donations from their communities.
3. Beanstalk evaluates the payout request and disburses all funds directly to vendors or service providers in accordance with the Gardener’s project plan.
4. Beanstalk keeps a full account of how funds were allocated and publishes this information on the project's "Outcomes" tab as well as in a detailed outcome report. We also create a video to document the results of the Garden. These appear on the Results tab of the Garden’s online profile.

ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPAREncY
At Beanstalk, we believe that everyone should be able to contribute in his or her own way, and that regardless of what contribution people make, they deserve to see what happened and how the community was impacted.
